Hi All,

We were hoping to go to Perth with our Aussie visa, but are having a rethink due to the WA mining boom making Perth very expensive for housing and an Aussie friend of mine here in London suggested Adelaide has good windsurfing ?

I just want to ask whether anyone can confirm the conditions and do you have a year round windsurfing scene ?

Also, what are the water / air temps for the area ?

Thanks

Justin

dont let anyone talk up adelaide as a wavesailing destination mate. wind yes waves not so much unless you are willing to travel 30 mins to an hour.
possibly the friendliest crew and tight knit bunch in sa.
cant say im totaly clued into the perth scene but there are world class breaks dotted around the state of wa but its a vast state and the very best spots are donkeys away from perth.
air and water temps are much the same but id say the swell is better in the west.
if your chasing regular sails of 3' surf or better during summer in sa you will need to travel over 4 hours by car but car pooling does occur.
hope ive helped out mate and havent been too biased.

Winter in sa is pretty decent wavesailing. Summer if fairly flat but generally depending on commitments you can sail once a week all year round in variable conditions from 4.2mtr wavesailing to 6mtr blasting. But if i had the choice go to WA!!!
