skinny diameter booms- bad on hands

three times this season have completely ripped my callouses off- wow that hurts.
never happened like this before, i think its my new 26mm diameter wave boom, I'm going back to 28/29mm. Skinny booms really do put more skin tension on your palms.
Anyone thinking of purchasing a super skinny boom 26MM i suggest you try one out first.

I found that when I 1st changed from the old Chinook to the newer Chinook (28/29 mm?) about 5 years ago. I'm guessing my calluses were in the wrong place. Don't have that problem anymore as all my booms are that diameter now. I wonder if they same thing happens if you only use the new skinnies?
