I use both Blades and S1's - quite different in feel but both great sails. I notice when the S1 get's overpowered it develops quite a flutter in the leech near the head. I really like the "light and flicky" feel when wave sailing. The Blade does have a huge range but is a bit "heavier" in feel. So my set up is 4.7 S1, 5.0 Blade, 5.3 S1. I use the S1's for genuine DTL and the Blade if its more onshore jumping/blasting.
I wonder what 2010 will bring?
The Blade is a great choice for riding frontside in onshore conditions. The extra power converts to drive in the bottom turn and the excellent stability really helps finish off the turn, clew open. Sheet out and the sail goes neutral while you cut back.
