just curious if anyone tried them windsurfing or even kite. I like the idea of ratchet straps....I dont like the price .

and they make a windsurf specific hook/spreader bar.

I am using the previous version of the carbon elite with the unity bar for both windsurfing and windfoiling. Most comfortable harness i have used by a wide margin. Also nice that the hook is so solidly attached to the harness so that evey movement in your hips goes directly to trimming the sail.

didn't know there was a previous version.... hoping other manufacturers come out with something similar.

I have had the Ride Engine Elite, with windsurf hook, for 3 seasons now. For about for ever I was using Da Kine, sliding hook harnesses. So for me a big step to going from that to an Harness with a fixed hook and hard shell.

For me it works incredibly well, no more backpain after a session and it seems to be golfing up very well. I would recommend it. (If you can, first try one on in a shop to see if the fit is OK for you).

I've had the dakine slider collapse on me (3 of them actually) switched to ION radium and the support has been fantastic for years. Only things were: bar failed within a year and crappy surrounding material to make look pretty shed away with time. In brief it looks like crap but works perfectly.

the one circled in yellow is for kite and the one circled in red is for windsurfing. Noticed the kite one is wider at the tip of the hook.
I have seen videos of company reps advertising kite hooks as windsurfing hooks (Starboard and another one that I can't remember the name of). Not sure why, other than it's cheaper for them to have one type and tell people they are the same.

I am aware the different hooks.

anyone try the elite vs Lyte ? I like the more compact size of the lyte. I have a mystic stealth which is pretty small/compact in size... hard to tell if the elite is too bulky.

also the Hyperlock looks interesting....the unity bar with direct connect looks nice as well. (I just hate the webbing straps....since I am always adjusting them when switch from wetsuit...drysuit...no suit.)
