Well, the new gear is coming in and the shops are all giving great discounts.
I've had a better offer (pricewise) than the Hot sails GP2.

A Maui Titan gs.
Seen a couple on the water here, nice finish, maybe not as strong as the Hot sails, but fast !

Any owners on here or people having tried that sail (it's a 7.0) ????

All feedback welcome.

Cheers

Sean

Hi Sean, I have a 6.5 and 7.5 Titan (narrow sleeve from a few years ago) and 9.0 TitanGS (2011).

Very happy with both, I use my 9.0 on formula board up to 25 knots and it stays nice and stable, although formula sailing at that point is mainly about survival - it hasn't let me down so far. The 7.5 is my favourite size sail to use. 6.5 is nice too. The wider sleeve on the GS means easy rigging and a deeper profile, more like the TR race sails.

They work best with a 75% maui mast - seem to sit a bit flat with a 100% race mast.

If your price on the TitanGS is even better than that bargain you had for the GP2, I wouldn't hesitate. What kind of mast do you have? They like a hard top mast so (apart from Maui SRS) Naish, Gaastra and Severne all work well apparently.

cheers

Masts are an important consideration. I've used Maui Sails Pusuit, Global, Legend and Ghost on Maui Sails masts and on constant curve masts and the difference was night and day. On the Maui Sails masts the sails were among the best feeling sails I've used. On constant curve masts you won't think Maui Sails very special at all.
