broke a good quality or so i thought mast extension ,was a pride one broke write across the top of the downhaul pulleys can anyone advise on a good replacement
i use the duel pin push in system may look at changing to the pin will see what comes in the responces cheers
One thing I have noticed that may not be very apparent is with the Euro pin vs. the twin button US cup, the euro pin extensions can be set to zero or two CM extension while on my Chinook carbon skinny extension with US cup the minimum extension is 10CM and this can be a problem with certain mast sail combinations.
Just get a Chinook extension. Windsurfers shouldn't have to worry about extensions breaking for pity' sake.
I had Chinook in the past, never broke one great quality.
I am now using Severne bases and extensions and so far so good, pretty happy with them.
I have been using euro pin instead of cup for a number of years, I know lots of people have for and against for both systems. The minimum extension of the euro pin style does make it very attractive.
have owned & still own Chinooks, still like work like new, in between throughout the years tried about 5 other brands- result always a breakage resulting in some near disasters with breakages of bits in the waves an ocean, ..(silly me throught I was saving money at the time!)..back on Chinook, awesome..
Devil is the detail of the construction, you dont notice the difference until you see a busted one and then see where it fails, then have a look at that spot compared to the chinook and you will see why they dont fail.
The new NP system looks pretty good and strong (but looks nasty on the toes!) ... its just too easy to get a Chinook and know that your all sorted and safe for a very long time, even if it costs a little more.
They just do what they do well.. I never give extensions a thought now that I am back on Chinook...not sponsored by chinook, paid full price, ...but if they want to....
Not a Chinook fan here. Broke 2, a carbon RDM one while rigging. Snapped in 2 right at the extensionpoint, think it was set at 14 cm.
Second one an alu RDM also broke and bent at the extensionpoint while on the water. Was ending my speedrun and the extension just snapped in half.
Go with the NP advice, the new UXT and MXT are superb extensions.
