What do you think of ka sail's gear: Mast, boom and sail in terms of durabilit? Any problems with braking mast or boom ?
Hi Magnum, never had a boom so I can't comment on them.
As for the rest of the gear, I would highly reccommend the durability and ease of use. The settings stated on the sails are exact, and not just a rough guide, so you can keep the precise setting from one session to the next.
I've tried (inadvertently) to snap my mast but found that even though my fat body landed squarely on the join, it stayed in one piece. ![]()
two thumbs up.
I don't have a boom but I do have the Koncepts + 100% carbon masts. Only had some minor issues with my Koncepts but KA took care of me. No questions asked! If you like a light soft feeling sail, than the Koncepts or Koyote will be great. I'm still rocking my 2008 Koncept 7.5! I let a local sailor try it yesterday (he uses north sails/ezzys) and he loved it! Loved it so much that he will be ordering a 2015 whenever they are available here in the states!

I had an older KA Carbon Boom and wouldnt recommend it. Was soft and broke in a minor stack. The new ones could be better.
I have a bit of KA gear,
Got a few sdm masts have a 430 70% for 3 years no issues at all.
But I have broke 3 460s all % 100,70, and 55, 2 at the ferrule and one right on the edge of the blue reinforcing area, must say I got them second hand and do run them through the surf zone a lot though.
Currently run a 100 top on 55 bottom on the 460 and has been sweet for a long while.
Have a small carbon wave boom I use on koncepts no issues the one season I have used it, got it second hand.
Thanks guys for all this new info .... I will certanly go for Ka Race and mast this yeart !!!
Good choice! The guys I know who used to use Koncepts for their lightness claim that the new KA Races are almost as light and soft as the Koncepts. Might consider getting Races for next year instead of Koncepts in the larger sizes.
