Thinking about quads...but sometime I have to ride in flat water and weedy spots...do you think a 14cm quad fin will catch any?

four times more than a single fin scaled by proportional fin length comparison calculations compounded by leading edge rake differences.

hope this helps.

I arrived at the same formula, but was hoping one tried it and arrived at different result..sometime, theory doesn't apply. Thanks.

the fins on a quad are smaller than most single fin boards ,you should be able to sail over most weedy areas.I sail over reefs that cant with single fin.try it

I haven't caught any yet. most wave fins with a fair bit of rake on them don't catch unless you are moving very slowly.

Im the same as Bertie.
I have windsurfed my Quad over some very weedy reefs and could have sworn I was collecting it on my fins.
But at a closer look I havent picked any up compared to when I had the single fin

my gut feeling at the first weed catch would be to throw a chop hop and if that didn't work a good ol' jump gybe would shake the pesky critters.
