Hi All,
I'm looking to purchase a Windsurfer LT soon and I'm tossing up whether to fork out the extra $180 for a bag - so my question is: how fragile is the Windsurfer LT?
I've been using a BIC WindSup to learn on, which is pretty much indestructible, and I've got a Starboard Carve 151, which I feel really benefits from a bag as it's fairly fragile.
The board will be stored inside and transported on roof racks.
I know $180 is small compared to the board price - but I'm already stretching it for the board and would like to save where I can!
Thanks in advance,
Simon
Have you thought about maybe getting an original WOD, same performance, bullet proof and probably cost less the the $180 bag?

I've never seen one for sale... Know of any around?
Big board suitable for course racing, hence best to store it on the racks at a yacht club or sailing club where you will be joining the movement of the numerous people sailing them and then there will be no need for a bag. Sailing or yacht club membership is required for all events under Racing Rules of Sailing and even more so in 2021 following amendments to the international sailing rules to be enacted and published soon, so save the money for the bag which is not needed if storing in a club and apply the savings to the annual membership & storage fees. If storing at home probably a good idea for a bag.

There are three for sale currently on this site under the Buy and Sell section. If you're not in AUS, the law of averages says that you would have more than three to choose from.

Ah, they aren't in VIC then I guess. I'll keep an eye out ![]()

Good call re club storage, I'm a LONG way from competing, but my club is just about to complete a board storage rack. Thanks for the tip ![]()
i reckon bag for all boards regardless - sometimes hurts at the hip pocket.
most dings on any of my watercraft -surfboards, sups, sailboards always happen off the water
how fragile is the LT ? - im a fan, but it is fragile

I'm pleased to report (especially with that advice, thank you), that I placed the order yesterday and included a bag :)
Sorry, didn't see this in time. But in case anyone else is looking for a bag.
A 12'6" touring or downwinder SUP bag fits the LT really well.
Apparently no one wants that size of SUP anymore and the shop I went to was happy to let it go for a good price. I reckon the one I got was much better quality than the genuine one in my opinion. Also fits Starboard Raceboards as well.
Don't know about the same performance comment Orange Whip? Got on my original One Design a while back after a long time off it and did not enjoy the experience. Used to enjoy sailing it in light wind, not so much when the wind was stronger. The new LT's are a much easier ride, light and stronger wind for me.
I am getting old and soft though.
