A good read on cammed freerace sails.
www.windsurf.co.uk/7-5m-cammed-sail-test-2015/
Covers the following sails:
ATTITUDE HORNET 7.8M
EZZY LION 7.5M
GA SAILS PHANTOM 7.8M
NORTH SAILS S_TYPE 7.3M
RRD FIREWING MKIII 7.8M
SEVERNE OVERDRIVE 7.8M
SIMMER 2XC 7.8M
TUSHINGHAM BOLT 7.8M
I would've liked a chart comparing the sails and their pros and cons.
Just as an aside. I have a full quiver of the Simmer 2XC sails from 5.5-7.8 (2013-2015 models) and agree wholeheartedly with the review. They're a fantastic all-round sail with lots of low-down grunt for early planning, but not as stable as the more dedicated race sails (like my smaller HSM GPS) when the wind is really howling. The Simmer 2XC is super easy to rig, has a really nice, deep profile for only two cams and with a nice narrow luff they're easily waterstarted. A really great all rounder for both gps sailing and blasting around the bay in summer.
Thanks for posting the link Nigel, good reading.
They didn't do a colour rating, I quite like the colour of those simmers you have
Quite a big range in price, over $500 difference between the cheapest & dearest ![]()
That's if the prices are real or simply RRP
