Hi guys,
Just a warning if you buy a gun wave mast & probabay the Loft ones as well ? through windsurfing sales.com your chance of getting another mast due to breakage even though it says a 24 month warranty (gun masts) is very slim. I broke one in december & after trying to contact them for 6 weeks finaly spoke to John who had put me in the "too hard basket" & decided not to respond to my constant contacting to claim the stated warranty. Gun sails in Germany was of no more help. Not sure what to do except have a whinge on here & let others know the 24 month warranty for piece of mind is useless with this company, so spend the little bit extra & deal with the professionals who can give you a warranty in writing. When we bought the mast they had said if I break it just return it for a swap (Matt) no such luck unfortunately. Anyone want to sell a top cheaply in WA that fits I may be interested.
Thanks Terry

Hi Terry how did you break it and how old is it.
Its pretty unusual to break the top section.

this is why i have a problem with buying kit over the net. Dealing with these kinds of issues face to face is the only way.
Support your local shops, or loose them.

I know Bud has been away and this may be the reason you haven't been able to contact them.If the mast is still under warranty there shoudn't be any issues with replacing it, i broke a mast last year and it was replaced with a new one, all i had to do was send a photo of the broken mast.

That's why i'm still waiting(3 weeks) for my local shop to get back to me with regards to a broken boom.
I buy all my kit online(from online sellers or shops) and have never had a problem, whenever i have shopped at my local windsurfing stores they never have what i want in stock and have to order it in, being 2.5 hours away it's easier to do it myself.

Should have bought a Powerex from your local store.

Warranties are always eazier if you show up in person to show them the product and answer all the important questions, if you have a receipt and a valid claim, any professional company would bend over backward to help get you back on the water asap.

I couldn't comment on your 24 month warranty, without knowing the "fine print". If it's an unconditional warranty, NSW consumer affairs would be able to step in and solve it in your favour.

If it's a valid warranty issue then windsurfingsales will replace it. However if the mast broke from wear and tear and not due to manufacturing defects then they won't.

Pretty simple really.

I broke a Loft 100% RDM bottom section in a barreling beach break. I called Bud and ordered another one. My fault, not theirs.

People on here are pretty fair when they fault equipment as the describe what has happened...

I had the ferrule break on a bottom section of a Loft 80% and Bud replaced it no probs after sending him some pics. I have nothing but praise for WSS.

I have always found WSS to be nothing but excellent as far as customer service goes.

Bud will bend over backwards to assist his customers with replacements and warranty claims. I know this as he has done so for me several times. I cant speak highly enough of them.

I gotta say, Bud at windsurfingsales has been great to me. I just broke the lever lock on my new boom through my own fault. Bud had a new lever and bolt in the mail faster than I could have got one from my local store across town. No charge because I am a good customer.
The gear I buy from windsurfingsales has always been top quality at a good price.

Another plus vote for Windsurfing sales from me...

I've had nothing but great value from the stuff I've bought over the net from them.

Bud bent over backwards to sort me out when I had a small issue (my fault), based on my experience I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

It sounds like Bud likes bending over for the boys! (Metaphorically speaking)
