A lot of harnesses seem to be geared to kitesurfingAny recommnedations for a good windsurfing one (i guess the hook is less bent over) that doesnt cost a fortune nor weigh a tonne?
a few yrs back i had a Ion Ruler that seems spot on - but i stupidly left it overnight at beach and was taken. In the summer I bought a Ion Radium - and i did the same thing - forgot it at the beach and was gone the next day (i had my harness for about 5 yrs and then lost 2 in 6 mths - duh!) However, the Radium was bloody heavy (and a little bulky) when wet i reckon it must have been about 6kg?!
Ion Icon 9 is an option - any other recommendations?
(i dont want a sliding spreader)
ThanksNorthy
Tried doing some searching before posting new topic...?

yup i read that - other than the last couple of posts (ride engine + mystic bar) wasnt that relevant, thanks.
Pryde proton. It's a super minimal harness so you don't notice it, it doesn't wiggle around and never gets in the way. Best waveriding harness I've used.
i had a radium for a while but prefer the proton atm
Liking my Dakine T8 with the fixed bar, works well for me, enough back height and firm enough for good support.
Used to have Mystic Legend, it very and light but got really soft in a year. MFC Wave Harness v1 I had as well, lamination on it disintegrated with a season and buckle system was just too annoying to put up with it, I think they changed it for v2.
Severne AIR, is nice and light, but never felt comfortable to me, besides I was looking for more support and saw the metal-plastic closure hook combo breaking, not sure they still use it.
Yes, ion radium heavy especially wet! Bar broke after one year. Surrounding materials tend to shred but overall support unchanged and straps are holding up quite well.
Some years are better than others in regards to water logging. Check with vendor or ion directly.
