Looking at buying a new 430 sdm mast, have found a unifiber 100% carbon for $385
that seems an amazing price, does anyone have some feedback on this make??

Hi Lee,

unifiber stuff seems ok.

I have a 400 C60 Unifiber RDM that i got from caloundra wind and surf and use on my smaller KA sails. i haven't had any problems with it so far. had it about 6 months and used it a few times now. it feels nice and solid and finish is good. it rigs well on my sails too.

it was also an amazing price so i couldn't say no.

i haven't had it long enough for a real informed opinion. ie. some of my powerex masts i've had for 5-6 years and still going strong.

fingers crossed and no problems to date.

i think for the price its worth trying, 100% carbon for $385 is very good. I also hope it will bring some responsive life to my sails. Hows that new board of yours going ( gesalt ) looks awesome.

Hi Lee
I have just replaced a KA 75% carbon in 460 with a Unifibre 460 100% carbon. Its rigged on KA Koncept. Feels really good. Response is good, little softer in the pumping action .
It would seem in looking at the specs the mast have a very similar bend ratio in there race masts to that of North Platinum
Overall I am very happy with the mast.
cheers

not sure, unifiber website specifies their masts as constant curve. 13.5%
