I just picked up a copy of the book from Windforce, after borrowing friends copies all through summer. This book is a great training aid for all Windsurfers, from beginners up to loopers and beyond! The best bit is you can have it with you at the beach and recap on the ‘hot tips’ before you hit the water!
Each transition is broken down really well with flowing photo sequences and detailed explanations. Light wind exercises are included for all abilities which gives us all something to do out there when the wind isn’t perfect, but will make a huge difference to your sailing ability.
I really would recommend this training aid for all. Gives the beginners a recap on the first stages, then goes into harness, footstraps, stance, waterstarts, carve gybes, jumping, freestyle and even wave riding and much more!!
Here’s what tricktionary.net says:
The Tricktionary is a comprehensive windsurfing training book of 292 pages divided into 9 chapters, which show beginners how to start, intermediates how to improve and experts what to train.
With every level taken in consideration the Tricktionary tells beginners about the equipment and guide them through a complete beginner course with all the additional info you'd otherwise have to learn the hard way by yourself. While intermediates can improve their jibes, tacks and 360s - freestyle-enthusiasts will be finally able to follow and learn even the most difficult moves. Windsurfers who want to sail in waves, will find everything they need to know. No matter if you are starting to get into it or if you are already a wave-guru - there is always something to learn!
On high quality photo sequences you can retrace every single movement. Explaining text as well as pre-exercises, problems, proper solutions and Hot tips hasten your learning process!
TRICKTIONARY 2 INNOVATIONS:
A complete Basic Windsurf Course (written by Simon Hurrey, and performed by Marco Wedele, both experienced windsurfing instructors),
A lot of equipment knowledge (including trim-guide and board tuning)
A special for "how to get fast" (Slalom, GPS)
Brand new windsurfers fitness and health pages (with Dr. Aly Sabri)
A big new Wave chapter (written by John Skye)
Yer i got myself a copy the other day, the way they show wind direction to where you sail should be positioned in moves is great, and heaps of easier moves to practice as stepping stones into the harder moves is excellent..
Certainly has me keen for some more wind to work on some new moves and to get the ones i'm struggling with dialed..There are new thing for everyone in there. Excellent book to own..
Stoked when they started to be available from aussie shops.
