My new Lorch Thunderbird Formula just arrived . It,s a big bugger , really wide in the nose and tail , even wider than the * Apollo .

I just got off the water after my first session on the Board , well , I am impressed . It was a lot livelier and also easier than I expected for such a large board . Very fast and intuitive upwind , it will take big powerful fins with that large tail, I was definitely underfinned today .Off the breeze it was very cruisy .
Having ridden *Boards for the last few years you definitely notice the stiffer feeling off the full Carbon constuction.
Time will tell how it handles Port Phillip Bay in 20 knots , but in the 8-15 I sailed it today it is a big "thumbs up "
Ha!!!
I was carrying it down the stairs at Green Point above my head and the wind caught hold of it . I had visions of the flying nun and Mary Poppins .
Formula is not for everybody , thats for sure , but today while 10 guys wallowed on Freeride gear I was ripping .
I just got back from a great session in the first seabreeze of the seson . Just perfect 12-14 knots , now I remember what is great about formula boards .
This thing is an absolute rocketship in that stuff , magic !!!!
It appears that we may have ended up with 2 08 Formula Boards , with a new Lorch F1 Formula arriving in the next week or so . Rather than Isobar , the Lorch importer selling this board we would like to give an up and coming Formula racer the oppertunity to use the Thunderbird Formula for the seasons racing .
Preference would be given to a NSW or Qld sailor who are regular racers and intend to compete in the Oceanic championships in Jan .
If anybody is interested in this offer please contact me at luvgang@bigpond.net.au and we can discuss it further .
