I',ve had this board for some time now so ive given it a fairly good work out, in lots of different conditions and have overall again been really impressed.
This could just about be a one board quiver for me (won't happen though)!!
My first pocket wave was the 06, this was an awesome board, but i always felt that the rails were a bit to chunky in the tail, "wouldnt it be that much better if those rails wern't quite as chunky" I recall saying. Well looks like those euros heard me cos thats the first thing I noticed on my newbie, the tail is slighty more drawn out. This means that now not only is this board great in really small dodgy mess, it actually rips in cleaner and moderate size waves too! Aerilas are still way too easy with the width giving us less than pro sailors a bit more speed and projection when you hit the lip.
Jumping is again easy with such a compact shape, no swing weight and less resistance in the breeze. (it fits in my hatchback too!)
Very early planning (up to 5.8 felt very comfy can do a 6.2 if you want) I've let a few guys try this board in light coditins and everyone always remarks how well it gets going. Great control when its windy due to its compact shape (4.2 didnt feel to small on it) can get a bit bouncy in chop due to width. I also found that i was able to rig the same size sail as other smaller guys were using and still get going no worries even when I was 85kgs compared to their 70kgs. This reallyimpressed me as its always so much more fun on a smaller sail (if you can get going of course).
Overall anyone looking for a board to use in waves this one is worth trying. Sailing this board gives huge rewards in waves and jumps![]()
