Thumbs Up

Had a few decent days on the new 2011 Tabou Quad 91 so far this season, but to this point Victoria has had a shocker of a season start so I am still far from having the board fully figured out. The outline of the Tabou Quad 91 is very compact at 229*59cm; the board has a flat fast rocker line with an aggressive drawn out tail shape. Footstrap placement of the Quad is also noticeably far apart.

On the wave I have found the Quad 91 to generate heaps of speed and has generally loose feel. Though the bottom turns the Tabou in quad configuration gives good grip, along with the fast rocker line that promotes great speed through the bottom turn. The board has allowed me to make a big step forward in my riding getting more vertical. Top turns on the quad are quite planted and to achieve a real aggressive turn the quad likes to be pivoted of the wide rail toward the nose, the board has a very loose feel through the top turns. I have found the wide footstrap placement to be great in riding and jumping alike giving additional control to the setup.

Early planning on the quad is good for a wave board along with good upwind ability.

I have found the Tabou Quad to really suit my personal style really helping me improve my riding, and really responds front foot driven riding. All in all the board is a good package and well worth a thought when considering a new wave toy. The Tabou is a fast and loose feeling board and good fun in my opinion.
