i worked at club vass this winter they had the 07 3S97, tough as nails compared to the starboards, most popular with guests but a bit heavy and poor footstraps.. should be the same story with the 08.. it looks pretty flash

3S 87 and 97:
We wanted to get better turning and
a fraction more wave abilities from
these boards. We pulled the tail in and
complemented this with a new rocker
that delivers tighter turns, a higher top
end speed and quicker acceleration.
The rails are thinner enabling more
grip and an easier ride!

I reckon the 08 will be the best yet, with less freestyle bias and more wave/bump and jump. Also the straps have been changed and made to fit wider feet. Personally I never had a problem with the straps.
Last year I rode the 97 with 6.4 and 5.6 remedy's and was the perfect blaster/chop hopper. This years will turn tighter and be quicker.

The boards will be in Aus in late Sep early October.

regards

David

I ve got the 07 model. Great board in small waves, can actually bottom turn quite nicely for a big board. Awesome board for freestyling. Has alot of options to change aswell inboard straps for waves and outboard for freeride. Suprisingly fast aswell clocked runs of 35knts on gps a while back.
Its short length makes it really easy to handle in the air and also very poppy when doing jumps or getting going. It came with a good freeride fin but is a bit too upright for waves so i bought a smaller wave fin and made a huge difference. Didnt find mine heavy at at all but Barn is right the footstraps aren't that great, you wouldnt need to replace them in a hurry. I would highly recomend this board if you want somthing for waves, bump & jump or freestyling. If not try the Rocket bit faster but still good for bump & jump.
