On Water: Within the test-team the S-Type was called Red Racer. In all windranges the red missile was by far the speediest
board
. A short, active pumping is enough to rev up the board.
Despite the hard and sporty driving feeling the control remains exemplary. “The red color fits perfectly to the aggressive
driving feeling”, said one of the test-team riders.
What is amazing is the fact that the Red Racer turns still more narrower than the Carve
which showed already better turning ability than the year before. One however could miss the benevolence for
powerjibes. The narrow tail requires more agile feet and a bit more experience. But neither does one really
expect an Easy Jiber.
In fact the S-Type 126 lives up to its promise. It is an uncompromising „racing machine“. Only
the JP Australia Supersport comes close in speed.
Flying at top speed over choppy water, you will not recognise the long-standing, rather
comfortable characteristics of Starboard anymore.
Conclusion: It is a Freeracer with the desire for high effort. No other is faster. Despite the
uncompromising shape Starboard managed to make a Freerider out of a Race Machine
,which turns narrow and carves into the curve. This, however, requires an advanced windsurf
level. But with it intermediate speedsailors have the chance to reach high speeds when
putting the straps in the inboard positions.
SURF-Tip: It is the Racing Machine for Formula 1 racers and for those who wish to become
one.
