Just bought a starboard carve 133l in Flax Balsa construction, the only finish available when you are looking for a reinforced fin box for foiling.
Nice shape and design.
Apart the tail, rail and the deck area around the first foot pad, which feels pretty strong, the rest of the deck and the bottom feel a bit under built regarding possible impact and pressure cause by the range of use. I don't feel reassured to use the board without adding a self adhesive nose protector and other protection on mast and boom.
Any opinion on the matter and the FB carve?

I think you're on the right track, they are pretty fragile. It will also suck water badly if dinged so be alert if you smash it.

Get a Surfbent, it works very well.
I used to surfbent but not anymore. A couple of months ago I went out wave windfoiling, crashed and the tendon of the mastfoot snapped. Wasn't even a big crash, big waves or lots of pressure. The severne mastfoot was less than 1 year old, yet it broke just like that. Result: having to drift back to shore. Also it might leave a ring shaped dent on the deck.
I guess it's better than nothing, but still not ideal
