Thanks to Sunshine Coast Sailboards, I took a Futura 111 out for a test drive on Saturday. Wind was aprox 15-18, and was using a 6.5. Having ridden the new Isonic 86 I was interested to compare the two boards. Now I know that the F111 is a lot bigger, and ideally a F93 would be a better comparision, but the you should get a fairly accurate impression.
The F111 felt very similar to the Isonic. Infact the acceleration was outstanding, very similar to the Isonic. I would go as far to say this board is way faster than the carve was, and certainly feels faster to accelerate than a similar sized S Type.
The gybes were simply outstanding, anyone looking to do thier first planing gybe wont be disapointed with this machine. There is no doubt that you will see this at a lot of local racing scenes as its simply very easy to go fast and turn.
It has multiple foot strap position to suit different rider preferences and the wood edition felt very light.
This board for me is a 10/10!
No complaints from me, oops, time to go for a blast, nice 15kt easterly coming in, thats enough work for one day
Took this board for a spin on the weekend. Super smooth ride. Goes through the chop way better than the Stypes
