Has anyone tried the 2011 NCX sails They look like they are lightly built (to me) and i wonder what the sail life and performance would be.

I got a pre production 2011 NCX 7.5m at the end of last year, and I love it. Really big wind range, I've used it from 14 to 22 kn, feels light for a sail this size and performs well in overpowered conditions. Recently matched it with a severne blueline 460 mast, rigs really nicely (as you would expect).

Only problem is that one of the monofilm panels has slightly pulled out of the stitching above one of the battens near the mast, I'm getting it fixed this weekend (pretty cheap to fix). Dont know if it was just a problem because it was a pre production or if could happen to all of them. I have given it a bit of a battering stacking jibes (I suck).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Pel. I would asumme that not many have these sails. I am thinking of getting Ezzy Freerides instead of these because of my lack of confidence in their durability over the medium term. I will ask about the freerides on another thread. I am very similar to you in jibing so need a robust sail.
