Thinking about replacing my Naish Session 5.7 with a Severne Gator 5.7 that I can get cheaply off a friend. I'm 65kg, intermediate rider, 84L and 100L wave boards, primarily sailing in wave/bump and jump. I live in Brisbane so 15-25 kts are common in Summer. My next smallest is quite a leap to a 4.7 but I found the Session's wind range was large enough to cover the fact that I lack a 5.2 or there abouts.
The only alternative would be a Naish Chopper XL, which I'm told has the power of a 5.7.

Cheers in advance, Alec.

I have the whole quiver of the choppers and love them. The XL has good power and fits on a 3.70m mast same as the L & M which I really like, considering that I always had to carry lots of masts with me for different sail sizes. The XL is extremely light handling in the waves and rotating moves are really fast. The Chopper overall works great as bump and jump sail – its not the fastest in speed but definitely makes jumping and wave riding lots of fun. XL is probably around 5.5 mark.
I hope this helps

I've got the gator 6.0 and my next size sail was a 4.7. This is too much of a gap. So I bought a 5,4 blade to fill it. However if I had a 5.7 and a 4.7 there would have been no need.

The range on my 6.0 gator is massive. The sail is simply awesome!!!! Very easy to control. Awesome in the air on jumps. Easy to jybe. It's the best sail I've ever ridden. I riden a lot of Neil pryde, gastra and ezzy. But never a chopper.
