I got Mark from SSD to shape me a 95 Litre wave board, with a thruster set up, for a one board option for 6.3m to 4.7m conditions for traveling os. I have had this board for about 3 months so far.

As I'm 92 kg, and a wave intermediate this board is great from marginal conditions with the 6.3m, in 15 + knots, which is maximising my time on the water, with the some times light winds of QLD & NSW.
I have only used the 6.3/5.8/5.2 all with the 22cm centre fin, I haven't sailed the board in 4.7m conditions (20 cm fin), but look forward to when I'm on holidays in WA, in a couple of weeks.
I have previously beening using a 102 L JP FSW for light wind wave riding in 6.3/5.8 conditions, but now just using the SSD. The board is incredibly fun to ride on the wave, and feels closer to my surfboards in the drive from the fins and rails. The board rides smooth in the water, I put this down to the different board construction, and points higher in to the wind due to thruster set up.
The board is great to jump and I think rides better max out in strong winds than a single fin set up. Another benfit is more foam under the back foot for marginal conditions, but still been super responsive.
I can notice a slight drag over my single fin wave boards, when getting up on plan, but it is only a feeling of hestation before it gets up on plan, once on plan the board feels fast and lively. The benefits of a thruster set up I believe out ways this, and this board does have more rocker than my other wave board. (85L Fanatic Allwave)

The diamentions for the board are 7'11, 15.5"nose, 23.25"wide, 15"tail (30 cm from nose & tail).

The board is constructed from closed cell foam, so no need for vent.
The boards have a 4mm divinicell bottom, with an american rock maple timber deck with carbon reinforcing - (Mark stone)

The fittings are dakine, and the pads are comfortable.
The board is finished well, and looks greater with bright flames.

I am super stoked with the board, and would highly recommend one to any one. I have always got my surfboards custom made for weight/ability/conditions and will be doing the same from now on with my wave boards.
Mark was great to deal with, and the board suits exactly what I want, and is great value for a custom made board.

Seen a few of these SSD's here in the review now, and I gotta say, if they look anywhere near as good in person as they do in pics, these have gotta be the best looking boards on the water at the moment. From the reviews, sounds like they ride as good as they look too.

I think they will probably be top of my list next time I am looking for a new board.

Hows the price compare to the "big" brand production boards? I assume it would be fairly good especially now with the AUD being so low.

I think the price is great compared to the new 08/09 gear now that the dollar has tanked, and as a bonus your supporting australian made. If you interested have a look at mark site, and or drop him a line.

whilst there is no one board alone that is perfect for everyones style of sailing, mark stone custom shapes boards for a handfull of the best sailors in geraldton and around the globe including his two sons who on his boards just took out:
1st Lancelin wave Elite
1st Lancelin wave Juniors
1st Greenhead wave Elite

I ride em, I love em. enuf said.

Just curious - The other SSD thread on here was also a thruster i noticed...

Do SSD mainly do thrusters rather than the twinnys as per the production boards (and if so - why)?

Cheers!

Just a few minutes on a demo SSD was enough to get me back into windsurfing after several years exclusively in the kite-zone.
