Severne Glide 7.5 Review - German Surf
At this moment in time, one can not buy more power per cubic capacity. The flexible rig is perfectly easy to pump on the plane and to build up power; even rather lazy riders are planning effortlessly. After 2 or 3 pumps even 80 kg heavy sailors keep the board continuously on the plane, even without white caps or any specific sailing technique.Due to the high holding forces, one can still stay hooked in and relax even when the wind drops off to reveal a mirror like glossy surface Considering the high performance output, the sail feels light and at the same time soft and cushioned. In gusts the pull on the back hand stays in the range of the acceptable. In the middle and lower wind range, the Glide shines strongly on its own. In a "speed race" in early planning conditions and in comparison to Freerace sails it clearly gets more credits
The most extreme early planning sail on the market. For sailors who want to push the physical limits of a 7.5 meter sail and are willing to try out a new sail concept
Auswind - Matt H comments -=I was a huge fan of this concept in thailand (8 - 12 knots is their regular wind) - being a wavesailor i was quite intolerant of big 9s and 10s that felt dead in the transition and rotation through what would normally be a nice carve Gybe. The Glide 7.5 meant that i had all that low end power on tap with the ability to come out of the gybe at full speed with a nice easy rig flip (or even duck gybe the sail!) For me the Glide represents 9'0 bottom end with 6.5 freeride handling.
