I'm consider change my S-Type 104 for a S-Type 115 and Kombat 85 for a Kombat 97. Has any one sailed the S-Type on Port Philip Bay? If so what sizes does the 115 suit? I'm about 82kgs.

Stephen

Hi windrider, I ride a Stype 115 in QLD and find it bumpy in choppy conditions. I also have a 93 Stype to use when this happens. In saying that the 115 is my favourite as it is usable a lot more often. I use a 34cm drake slalom fin out of a hyper sonic and a 6.5 sail on this board. If you are looking for speed it will be faster more often than the 104 because you are more likely to be near the top end of the boards capabilities. I have proven this using a GPS. My top speed in CAloundra ( very short runs due sandbanks ) is 33.6 for 2 secs and 32.67 for 100m. I haven't been able to do that with the smaller board because there isn't enough wind or room to wind it up.
As for Kombats I also had a 105 and 86. Don't expect earlier planing with larger volume. They are designed for rider weight difference. The 97 is ideal for your weight.
