Hi all,
Just a quick report on the new 2008 RS:Slalom MKII 6.7m with the ultracams. I had my first sail on the weekend. This sail is a direct replacement for my old trusty 2007 RS:Slalom 6.7.
First impression is that the sail has a much more stable profile and a little bit more shape down low in comparison to the 2007 sail. This means a little bit more power and stability at speed. No lack of low end though. The sail rotates like dream with very little effort to pump the sail onto the new tack with the new cams which was my only complaint with the 2007 sail.
Looking forward to many more sessions on this sail.
Cheers
David
I to am blown away with how the sail rotates.
I've been using the 7.2m and all you have to do is flip the sail and it just changes side.
I've even deliberately flipped the sail as gently as possible slowly bringing it around and it still just slips around the mast.
The sail works a dream as well![]()
I agree. The new MKII sail just rotates with as soon as you grab the other side of the boom. The old RS Slalom had to really be pumped hard to rotate. I even had to kick the bottom cam numerous times.
I also agree with the ease of rotation I have the 5.8 its a dream no longer having to knee or kick the bottom cam
not only blown away how well these sails rotate, but also proving to be quick,
