Is a Qoya a cross between a Goya and a Quotro

Had my 104 for over a year and love it, at 112 kg it's my all in one board for now. With a 6.2 it handles it well with a bit of finesse on the backhand and foot so the fins don't let go when really pushing it. 5.3- 5.8 no problem and my favorite combo, I have the straps spread right apart, mast track in the middle, and move it either side of this an inch to suit conditions. Watch Keith's vid on how to set your quad straps up re your size as a guide,

When you get your first true tight rail top turn on this sweet board you will crave more. I find it easy to ride, and it's no slouch when it comes to speed if you know how to ride it off the tail. Helpfull for chasing down those set swells out to sea. 37 knots on the flat is what I've had mine up to if that's your thing.

Great choice of board if your around the 100 mark, a light wind option for lighter guys too.

Hay mate thanks for the setup info. Will watch that vid ASAP. Already running my straps as wide as possible. Was not shore about mast position as I would have run it forward to allow more volume under foot. Have you tried it this forward and how different is it. Been stinging to get it out on the water. But we have had no wind yet. How do you find the flot in under powered sailing. I'm 98kgs and dropping so hopefully will be able to get it out in some light wind.

How did it handle the high wind. I've got a 84ltr single fin high wind board which I would like to sell if I don't need it anymore. We don't often get 35knots but when we do I would like to just be able to ride it.

A Qoya is what you buy when you want a Keith Teboul board, but can't decide which one.

Well I've now had a chance to get my quad out on the water a few time. In the waves and on fw. First thing I've noticed is that being 97kgs there is great amount of stability with this board and the float is just perfect. I can float out in 10knots and can uphall if nessisary.

One thing that has really impressed me is the fact it gets planing really well. One thing that bugged me with the fanatic 101 when I tested it. The goya has a tedency to want to point up wind which is nice and jibes and jumps great. Feels really nice to pop of chop. Decently not a fast board.(but not why I bought it)

Only really had it out in light cross on waves 3/4 foot so not the best conditions but all in all any chance to get on the quad it is good day. On the wave the board comes alive. Picks up waves really early and accelerates really Well. bottom hand turn is drivy and fast and really predicable. You can point hard at the lip you want to go hit and still Carry lots of speed. The top turn is so sweet. Switching from rail to rail is so easy and carves so hard. It really pulls all the way round and completes the turn with ease. The board also has a really predicable tail release which you can choose to do by just pushing down on your heal at the end of the turn. Still trying to get the foot strap set up right. Running them as wide as possible which feels weird when planning around but great on the wave. Still playing around with this.

Can't wait to get it out in some good dtl waves. Looking forward to the weekend at gerroa.
