I rigged the sail (overdrive 11.0 LW 2011) on my gaastra 520 cm 75% and today on my Gaastra 520 100% masts. Both are imcs 34. 2nd and 3rd panel have winkles all around and I cannot solve that problem... I tried the outhaul settings al the way up and down , downaul also and nothing happens. Also tried to change tension in battens, nothing... Wrinkles stay there I when Im on the water, and try to pump the sail, wrinkles get even worse and the sail looses power...When in the harness and the gust comes, when I try to pump the sail with my back hand, my old Severne C2 10.5 gets on the plane easily, Overdrive looses power...
Please some advices, or anyone had similar problem?
Thanx!
One more thing...I had camber rotating issue, but removed the spacers today and that is solved now... But loosing power in the sail is still there...

Hi Boxic,
The Overdrives in that size from memory use a 530 Blueline, you will need to add a further 10cm of downhaul, also the O.D's like heaps of downhaul
Hope this helps ![]()
Hi mate
The overdrives are cut in a way that makes them fairly mast specific. I'd suggest severne red or blue line ![]()
Anybody using gaastra mast on a new(er) overdrive or other severne sail?
Yesterday tuned a bit better on a 100% gaastra mast, but still remains the miserable low end power issue.
Took all 3 camber spacers out , and on 100% mast the camber rotation now is excellent...
But ehnn hooked, and the gust comes, when you try to pump the back hand to pop the board on the plane, nothing happens,
sail looses shape and stops. When rigged on the shore looks ok, upper 3 panels are loose, i have belly in the bottom of the sail,
tryed every combination of downhaul and outhaul, nothing gets better....

Get a Severne Blueline 530,it will solve the problem,I have found that sails are getting more mast specific, well worth the investment.
I spent a year a few years back faffing around with trying to match masts and different sails,in the end it was a waste of time and money, buy the correct mast for the sail and the problem will be solved.
I have 4 x Overdrives(1 x"2009" 3 x"2012") and no issue with the Blueline masts, although I have found that the Powerex free 80 works well in some sizes but again its hit and miss. ![]()
