Saw Dan Berry ripping it up on a new JP twin fin down at Botany Bay last Tuesday. I guess new boards must be just around the corner. He also sported what looked like a new Combat.

Any comments Dan?

I think I'd buy a pro edition solely based on poor color combos of the FWS version...

Just looking at the shot from the brochure I am wondering if the designer of the mostly yellow FSW version was color blind. Ok ok... maybe it's just my personal opinion.

on a different note, if last years model are anything to go by I would recommend anyone do give the pro editions a serious consideration. The price difference isn't that much but I believe with the pro version you get a much stiffer and better performing board.

FletcHuz, thanks for sending through the link. It was interesting to read the review comments. Can you shed some light on the sailors that have tried out the new board? sailing ability, weight, height etc.

oops sorry for the late reply, only just saw the post. yea it was the new combat, didnt have the right mast (as i didnt expect it to be 45kts) which was the reason it was rigged about 2ft off the deck. however, it was a great little sail the 4.2, bulletproof as you would expect from a combat but still light enough to throw around which was nice for freestyle ect. the most surprisingthing about it is the amount of downhaul (or lack thereof) needed to rig it, you almost didnt even need to put you foot on the base to downhaul it.
As far as the twinnies go, what can I say, they are sick. I think definately the loosest production boards that Ive ever ridden by far. The interesting thing that I have found with them is that the more you ride them you change little things in you stance and your weighting on the board and slowly figure out how to get them working to their full potential. If you jump on one and try to sail like you would on a big single fin board, its not going to work and your probably not going to get the most out of it or enjoy it. But if you think about how you need to sail them diferently and maximise the benefits of the twinny you'll never look back. And the pro edition is definately the go, stiffer, lighter=faster.
Also worth giving them a try with the new fly, bit more power without loosing any manouverability, which is what I think you need to go with the twinny.
