Durability/reliability M-base compare to euro pin?
Isnt this tiny plastic too weak compare stainless steel euro pin?!
What are your experiences?
dont talk about broken tendon ,only on construction failure-broken

Never had a problem with them.
Unless you are running the Chinook euro pin with the machined head the bolt holding it all together is larger in the NP base.

euro pin has 10mm bolt, m-base has 8mm bolt,plus m-base has tiny plastic ring and housing where is power button.
I think the MXT extender will last for a very long time?? But the base has to be replaced +- 5 times (1 time per year for me). Compare that with Chinook (locals did 5 years with chinook without replacement)...... Replace the tendon for a new one seems to me useless after 200 hours. Somehow the transfer from extender to board is very stiff, I think this causes the plastic parts to wear out faster than normal. My first power M-base has in all directions space to move, this varies between 1-5mm... With my engineering background/knowledge I know there can be extreme high peak forces in a windsurf kit, with movement between the parts there can be generated more a bigger lever with greater chance of breaking the part, I would say it is just a matter of time...

Personally I change the mast base one time par year. I still continuos to use the older for normal session (no wave, or safe conditions), and the new one for best days. In the past I've used Streamline (clip no pin), but this year I've used two Severne mast base (pin) and I am very happy, tested in Mauritius 18 days of strong wind and big waves, a lot of month of Garda Lake and some session in Mediterannean sea. All is ok great quality.

Had failures of euro and chinook before. Everything breaks eventually, but you will never see me use euro pin again. Seen way too many pins shear off in the surf.

Same experience here. Also been using the NP MXT and M-base for 10 years now without any problems. The M-base easily lasts multiple seasons without any noticable wear. I do replace the tendon every 2 years. The trick with the M-base, as with all bases, is to make sure you haven't got any sand or other muck between the base and the extension. A little bit of sand will grind away any alu, plastic or other parts in a couple of sessions. Also never experienced the M-base releasing during a session which I did have with several europin bases.

If you have a Europin that is 1piece with the tendon cap it will not ever fail - Like North/Duotone Chinook. The ones that used to fail were screwed on - usually an M8 stud went into the Pin.
