Has anyone been to Mauritius? I am thinking of going there next year, when is the best time of the year to get wind.

Comrade Dzub

Mauritius averages 300 days of wind every year,
February is the only month where it does not blow... maybe change of season/trade wind cycle

I have been to Mauritius many times and will be heading back there at the end of the month.

In my opinion best time to go is our winter, so anytime from May through to September works well.
The south west corner of the island. Le Morne is where the windsurfing is best.
Flat water, bump and jump along with mast high waves out on the outer reef called Manawa... there's also the down the line gnarly coral break of One Eyes... strictly for the advance rider only

Just got back from a 2 week trip to Mauritius, bloody awesome spot. Would recommend to check it out in August or even September. The wind is awesome, people are friendly, and Le Morne is definitely the place to be. I will definitely be going back, had a great time and was in the water every day. Cheers

One Eye's looks pretty hectic, is it only flat water sailing apart from that?

Also, does it suffer from the same tidal effects as Cocos?
