Hello,

Used the 5.1m tr-4 yesterday in choppy and gusty conditions. Wind was 15 - 23 knots and the sail was great. Gps max 36 knots. Heaps of power, fast and looked real nice. Used on isonic 94 with select 31cm sl7 and sail was awesome. Can't wait to get this sail on isonic 50 in some real speed conditions.

Thanks,

Carl Macdonald

Thanx Carl, good input.

With the 15 -23 knots wind I'm interested in at what point you can get the board up and planing freely with just 5.1 sqm. I'm 90kg and seem to need 20knots with a 6m to get going or 7.5m at 15kn tho thats using non cam sails
Cheers Phil

Geez Sailpilot, change your sails quick!!

A 5m does me (86 kg) from 18-20 knots upwards, 6m does 15-20, 6.8 does 12?-15...

You might need to bag 'em out a bit more?
Anyway cammed sails will help your early planing, they're like trucks

Hi Sailpilot,

As Nebbian said you need to bag them out. I wouldn't have usually chosen to ride the 5.1 and would have been on 5.8 but because the sail is new i gave it a go. I was very impressed with the early planing of a 5.1m sail too.

Thanks,

Carl
