There arent any reviews on Maui Sails on this site. Anyone from here use their wavesails? Am interested in the onshore one - the "GLOBAL". Good prices at The Windsurfing Shed at the moment.
Barry Spanier the designer used to work at Pryde right? should give him some beach cred?
feedback good and bad please
Been looking at these too but since my masts aren't hard tops maybe not so compatible with the Maui sails.
Both Severne and Maui sails rig on hard top masts with an IMCS bend of about 10 (constant curve mast about 15). Not too helpful I know but if you're gunna spend big bucks on new sails make sure the mast is compatible.
The site below illustrates what I'm talking about

dont rely on that, I had maui 400rdm 75 which was certainly not at hardtop end of spectrum. Remember alot of these wave sails are made to suit rdm's which are inherently softer.
maui's as a brand are great, just don't have a good import network to australia & it's such a small market that its hard to break into unless you are dirt cheap.
I've tried/owned other maui's but not the globals. I think the older globals weren't full xply so just double check that if xply important for you in a wave sail.
Good points there. Thanks fellas. The price is certainly right on 2011s at the moment that's for sure. Need new masts anyway as all gear was ripped off recently so am restocking the whole bloody lot. Cheers.
Hi,
I have used the Global 5.4 for a while as a light wind sail in the wave as I am around 77kg, it looks a great sail for heavy guys who like having lots of back hand, the profile is very stable, there nothing really wrong with this sail it will last you at least 2,5 years easy as they reinforce the bottom and the middle panel the last 2 years.
