Hi all, thought I'd share a few thoughts on some of the MFC gear I'm currently using.
Harness lines. After years of using loads of different brands for lines, with varying consistency in lengths, durability I decided this spring to switch to MFC 34" lines for my wave sailing. First impression is they look pretty much like most other brands , they have clear rope cover so wear is easy to spot. 6 months in and they are wearing well. The big difference I've noticed though, is they don't swing around when unhooked, great when on a wave or gibing as the line position is always in the same position when hooking in again. Another benefit is in the past I have had a swinging line hit me in the face, not cool and sore if it hits the teeth. Overall, great lines and I'll probably stick with them.
Just treated myself to the 2018 MFC top of the range wave harness in white. The harness looks great, it's nice and light when dripping wet , fits well and doesn't ride up during use. I have a 36" waist , tried the large but went for the XL as the sizing was definitely snug with the L. The Xl would certainly be fine for anyone up,to 38-39".
My Quatro boards came fitted with MFC foot straps and quad fins. The straps like the harness don't soak up much water, look good and seem to be wearing well.
The fins are the red ones which I can't fault for performance but have proved brittle, a fault that MFC have recognised. The new 2018 fins are made with a new composition to address this problem. My supplier also informed me that MFC are offering anyone with 2017 boards with the older fins can get the newer ones at 50% reduced price. I may well take up this option if my current ones take a bad hit.
hope some of you find this helpful
cheers Rob
