Thumbs Up

Matt here from Auswind,

traditionally i have found this board segment to promise lots of wave ability but offer very little , which certainly makes life difficult for those looking for a board for their first adventures in the surf.- things have changed!

I was part of the Starboard r and d Program for this board in Hawaii. Compared to other brands 06 boards we were testing against ,for reference, the Kombat had BY FAR the easiest carving and waveslaying ability. Many of the other offerings the bias towards freride was so strong that i actually struggled to be able to complete a bottom turn in the straps.

Scott MCkercher was happily riding (aerials / full rail gouges) the plug for the production mould at Hookipa.

here is an excerpt from the review:

"Completely at ease in the Surf this board Impressed out testers

It offers good grip and a great transition from rail to rail to allow you to ride the wave easily. It is amongst the easiest in the group to Carve.

On top of all of this it goes well upwind to get to the next wave - A great and versatile board.

Auswind -If you are looking for your first waveboard or an all round freeride / wave cross over - this is a great TRUE wave riding option to consider that wont force you to bottom turn with your back foot out of the strap."
