hello all,

I am a young windsurfer and currently sail on a tabou rocket 125l. I have multiple sails of which one is only current. I have a 6,2 RIP art sails which I want to replace for a S-type 6,0 (north). With that I was also thinking about getting a 430 mast. Which mast should i get and is that a decent sail for me to progress on?
I can sail in trapeze + footstraps and I can waterstart, I am also working on learning carve/duck gybes.
weight 70kg height 1m88 (150lbs, 6ft 2)

Thanks

Post this in the windsurfing general forum if you haven't already and you should get more response.

Hi Dylan

I just upgraded my 5.7 ezzy wave sail 2001 model to a serverne gator 6.0 2012 model and a 430 75% carbon severne gorilla mast.
I'm 74kg and went out in 20-22 knots last night. WOW it was awesome. It had so much control in the strong gusts and cruised through the luls. It also went up wind very well. Very easy to jibe. I just can't imagine better. It felt much lighter than the ezzy even though it's bigger.

Match the mast you get with your sail.

If you get a smaller board don't go below 92 liters or you will end up needing 20knots just to get going.

Have fun

I use North x-types and s-types and use the a North Gold 430 with them - could not be happier. Probably best to get a North 430 mast for a 6.0 s-type.

The x-types are similar to the s-types without cams so are easier to waterstart and a bit more forgiving when turning etc, and they also have a huge wind range.
