Can someone help? I have a Neil Pryde 2007 RS Slalom Sail, and a Neil Pryde UXT48 extension. I need a mast. The Luff for this sail is 485cm. I'm planning on getting either an NP Matrix X65 mast or maybe an NP X35 mast. I guess it would be a 460. However, my question is, what is a 460 SDM and what is an RDM?

Just getting back into it after over 10 years and slowly putting bits together.

Cheers

Standard Diameter Mast - What you'd be use too.

Reduced Diameter Mast

Definately use the diameter suggested by the manufacturer of the sail.

Cheers thanks for that. The guy I bought it from said something about getting a skinny mast. I can't seem to find any information about mast diameter for that sail. The following link doesn't mention it, but does suggest a NP X6 460 mast. But is that SDM or RDM?

It can't be too skinny or it won't fit on my extension?

That sail is designed for a standard diameter mast (SDM).

I have a X6 460cm mast. Its a 2008 model and is an SDM.

You are right about that one, skinny masts need different extensions.
But an NP X6 sdm mast works fine with an RS slalom.
This mast will fit on your UXT 48 too.

You either stick with rdm or sdm system or you end up with a lot of stuff after a couple of years.
