5.3 Gun Wave MC 2005
Test Report PlancheMag’s TEST 2005
Powerful, the MC Wave2005 feels “positive” in your arms, more than last years model. This stiffness gives more dynamism in light winds. More direct, reactive, the Wave MC is comfortable sail due to its good profile: loose leech. The sail gets a very wide wind range (good planning and good control), holds in strong winds and is well balanced in your hands. The advantage against his sister product the Hammer, the sail has more bottom end and it is more suitable for gusty, onshore winds.
In down the line conditions the sail is fine with an advantage against the Hammer in weak conditions. Regarding the cost, it is one of the best buys in the market but never the less very versatile. It is a good sail for medium to heavy sailors.
Pros: Winds range, neutrality/ manoeuvrability, dynamism/ comfort.
Cons: None
Tester’s comments:
That sails offers a good mixture of reactivity and comfort with a deeper centre of effort, which gives good handling. Pleasant to sail with a very wide wind range, the sail is also easy to rig.
