SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL...
The IQ is set to free your mind. Presenting, the first Thomas Traversa signature wave sail from Gaastra. With the new crew taking center stage in the wave sailing arena, its time to release what superstars like Thomas Traversa crave. This low aspect ratio machine drives hard through the bottom turn, snaps effortlessly off the lip, and makes even the most difficult moves accessible. A lightweight, 4-battened art-piece, the IQ gets you up and going faster than any other. Soft in the hands and powerful in light breeze, you can rig the IQ a size smaller than most other sails making your rig lighter than ever.
“I can’t believe how much I love this new sail... It is the sail I have been dreaming
about all my life. I can make moves tighter and sicker than ever before. I can spin
Taka’s all day long. I get more controllable drive because of the shorter luff length.
The way the sail pulls me around is very unique - I have always liked a shorter mast
because it gives me more precise control over my rig.... Now it is so much easier to
make my moves more consistently,” says an excited Thomas!
The IQ compliments Gaastra’s already outstanding wave line-up. It caters to
radical wave and freestyle riders, delivering instantaneous acceleration and agile
maneuverability. You can get under the lip more tightly and spin freestyle moves more easily. Take your wave sailing to new levels with the Gaastra IQ!
The Echo and Echo LE retired this year to make room for this modern machine. Their legacy lives on in the IQ’s 4-batten plan-form. This combined with a shorter luff length makes the sail lighter, more compact, and offers limitless low-end power. Whether you prefer the power of a Poison or the knife edge of a Manic, the IQ belongs in your quiver with them.
This sail is an all-round modern ripper! You no longer need to have a special freestyle sail. Freestylers will love the way it flies. The spins will be easier, the aerial maneuvers will be higher and more controlled. The IQ will replace the Echo and Echo LE as one of the best Freestyle sails on the market!

Dan Kaseller is behind both the Vandal and Gaastra designs, looks like Vandals Graffiti artist put some input in. Although the Vandals are being made in a different Factory.

Still no info on production availability or price.

The Vandal Riot is a slightly different sails more targeted at down the line with less real wave/freestyle cross over
