I haven't seen anything posted, so for those who are interested, the new gen is here and getting good community reviews.

I'd expect savvy consumers will be able to find the original for considerably cheaper these days.
Video doesn't look different enough to upgrade, but the 11MP stils and 2fps continuous is pretty cool.
If they (finally) release a WiFi remote trigger I'd upgrade. It sucks having to crash gybe to turn it on every wave.
Having looked at the sample footage provided by GoPro I'd have to agree with OZPRICEY... it shows the same wobble effect as the GoPro HD 1.
In my opinion they should improved the image quality rather than try to bump mega pixel count.
Just look at the iPhone 4s in regards to what can be achieved with stabilising HD video and improving on image quality.
The Wifi streaming add on seem like an interesting option though. And oh how I wish I had that floating back door attachment when I lost my first camera last summer.
wish they would put the sensor/lens at the end, or more bullet shaped, instead of making it look like a typical point/shoot camera
i guess their lcd display attachment thingy wouldn't be so practical if they did
I got the email from them this morning
...annoyed, would not have minded if if it wasn't for the fact that I only just got a new HD GoPro two weeks ago. The new one does look to have some nifty features as far as the wifi streaming, the remote and finally a screen you can understand. The ability to change the view to 90 degrees is also good, I can only look at so much distorted wide angle video before my mind wonders off.
If you have a GoPro invest $90 into a flymount, It's the best thing you'll ever do. It makes the whole thing a lot easier and you can change the camera position in seconds from the boom to the mast, up high or down low. It beats joining a million GoPro bits together to get the angle you want.
Anyways I love my GoPro and flymount, it does the job....and I probaly will be suckered into buying the new one.....Toys, i can't help myself![]()
Yes the new Gopro looks cool! the Contour roam is also good and is waterproof (ish) . +1 for the Flymount which you can get from Seabreeze with the new Gopro adaptor (which works much better than the Gopro tripod mount)
I recently snapped a Flymount. I emailed the Aus distributor with some photos and within a week there was a new one at my door.
Their service is excellent, I'm stoked.
I tried one out over the weekend. Fairly impressed! Lot's of improvements over the generation 1 version... however....
I think the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT thing they should have improved is the quality in 'low-light' conditions. I always find if I strap one to a bike or car the picture quality is quite nice, but when I put one on my head/boom and go windsurfing, if the sail is shadowing the sun, the picture quality goes quite grainy very quickly... Could not tell the difference between the new one and the old one on this front even though GoPro state that it has "Professional Low Light Performance" and is one of the things they improved on the GP2.
Anyhow, despite that one feature. EVERYTHING else is MUCH better on the 2. I won't ever go back to the V1 now !!
So is photo quality any better? Just pushing the pixel count is usually not a good way to improve pictures, sometimes even the opposite...
