Considering a Flying object FLUX 3-2mm wetsuit but cannot find any reviews, does anyone use them?
I like the appeal of being cut for windsurfing as do suffer arm pump and I end up cutting the arms off suits.
I also want a suit that is flexible enough for surfing & SUPing where i don't end up fighting the suit resistance. Is the Flux suit suitable for windsurf, surfing and SUP? or am better off buying a super flexi suit such as ebomb. Currently have a NP steamer which is fine for windsurfing but too stiff for more than an hours surfing/supping.
Any suits out there with durable smooth skin for preventing wind chill. Been using the Xcel smooth skin 2mm jackets for last 4 seasons and best invention ever (except tight arms again) and very durable smooth skin. Would like to get the full suit 3-2mm version but not happy with having to cut the arms of a winter suit and they seem impossible to obtain in Aus.
Yep me and a few other crew have used them for a few years now.
Great wetsuit
- Awesome fit
- No Rash - best stretch neoprene
- Warm, I use it year round in South Aus
- Surfing And Windsurfing
- Good Price

Hi Peguin,
Just a little insight into our suits. We manufacture our suits in one of the top factories and use the same materials / construction methods as many of the high end surf brands. The neoprene used in the Flux series is very stretchy so you will not have any issues with resistance or feeling stiff.
I predominately Windsurf and SUP, so much of the design is focused around the suit allowing total freedom of movement. Having moved from a back zip to a chest zip allows much better upper body movement and especially while paddling a SUP.
For the 2015 range I made a few small tweaks to the fit, allowing for a tighter seal around the neck and a snugger fit in the chest. This has made the Flux suits a little more all round usable for SUP / Surf but we maintain the same cut and features that make our suits more specific to the sports we manufacture for. The Flux does incorporate some smooth skin in the chest and back as this is used to heat the upper body quicker as we spend more time above the water. These days a good double lined sealed suit is as warm as your going to need but far more practical, durable, lighter and less expensive than a smooth skin suit.
There are really not that many full smooth skin suits available (especially in Oz), many brands have shifted towards more Hybrid styles that incorporate double lined in areas for stretch and maneuverability. Even in Europe sales are declining in smooth skin as they have so many limiting factors.
Hope this helps some
Cheers,
Marco
Hi Marco,
Where can one try it on?
I.E. I need an extra lengths sleeves / legs so I have to try it on.
I've have had the new style FLUX since they came out, awesome suit, super cumfy and warm, I have the 3/2 and never been cold, even surfed in it a few weeks ago and it worked sweet.
The material is awesome as far as stretch goes I'm usually an XL in most suits but with the new material I can wear a large which is perfect.
The suit seals super well also.
The enter through the neck system is a bit of a challenge at first but once you figure out which arm to put in first it gets a lot easier.
The only problem is they bought out a cool green one and my black and red one is still too good to update!!
Get into one you wont be disappointed.

Hi Obelix,
You can come and see me at Airborne Kitesurfing / Stand Up Paddle Sports in Osborne Park.
Alternatively if we know in advance we can send a few sizes to one of the local shops on our Wednesday run and then you can go and try it on.
Cheers,
Marco

+1 on all points.
I've had the flux's for a few season's now; currently rocking the green kermit-the-frog version. Really enjoying them. I actually cut the sleeves off on my L/S steamer because I wanted to have the suit in 3/2mm not 2mm for Europe; but so far haven't had any problems with that. They are really comfortable and super stretchy; highly recommend.

Yep I have one as well and they are awesome. Easy to get in and out of and the arms are super stretchy. I have never had an issue with my forearms getting pumped up with this suit. Just get one, you will love it. Really comfy and fit perfectly![]()
Cheers gents for the comments and pretty awesome to get comments from the designer!!!
I get back to perth mid July so will pop by Os Park.
Thanks guys
Marco
What price are the suits and is there any difference in the Flux team edition & Flux apart from one being green and one black. I'm 43 so a little old for green suits, prefer the black with a bit of green.

Hi Pequin,
There is a slight difference in the two versions of the Flux, the team edition uses the full stretch double lined neoprene for the chest and back panel instead of the single lined neoprene. So the standard version would be slightly warmer in the upper body and the team suit would have a little extra freedom of movement / stretch in the upper body.
Also there are a few small logo / graphic differences, the team suits are mostly used for brand promotion so they are aimed to stick out in photo shoots. Well I'm the same age, I also don't think I can pull off the Retro / bright look but did wear one for the 4 days a Merimbula last year, you do feel a little self conscious especially standing on a paddle board ![]()
RRP for either version is the same at $429.00
Cheers,
Marco
I love mine
Steve helped me select mine same as his and they are SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!
get one end of story

Tried a fo suit on today and unfortunately I'm between a medium and alarge.so didn't buy one.shame so I ended up with a ripcurl flashbomb medium tall. Need more sizes in the FO range.
Hi, I just splashed out on a new Flux.
Finally my old NP FX3 steamer had too many holes. I really like the Flux. Easy to get on and off, super stretchy and very warm. Have been out a few times windsurfing and SUPing and found it great. Had a surf in it yesterday and was comfortable. The latest version 2015 has slightly modified neck line cut which goes further up the shoulder where the zip is (nearly to the neck), this minimizes the ingress of water. Not sure if it would really be an issue, however it was something I noticed when I tried them both on and the reason I went for the newer version in the end.
Hope this helps.
