Hi SW,
I've got a 2014 105L Gecko in LTD,

IMHO all ''freemove'' boards are awesome, early planning, super easy gybing and maneuverable with their slalom rocker, thin tucked rails,
wide plan shape and lower volume, (guaranteed to put smile on your dial :o)

Although I'm stoked with my Gecko I'm not sure they are any better or worse than the other ''freemove'' boards out there

I found the Gecko has a more slalomy than freeride feel because of the slightly boxier rails
and awkward(for me) footstrap positions,
compared to my favorite Exocet XCross 115 (until it delaminated after only 18 mnths) which has even thinner rails and wider tail than the Gecko

Thanks ducati.
Just so many boards to choose from - brands / volumes / lengths / widths - doing my head in a bit. Might just have to take the plunge and worry about it later.

Looking for a board for that 12 to 16 range where my 95l is just too small to carry a 7.5 freeride. But it still needs to go ok with a 5.5 if I go away and take just 1 board and the wind is up.

The 105 gecko has a sail range of 5 to 8 and it has enough floatation for my 74kg's to stand on and uphaul if the wind dies and I like the idea it is not that big for stronger wind.

I was also looking at the Hawk but would need to go to the 113l to get the same sail range. I know I will loose a little speed with the gecko but I am not out breaking records so I don't think that's such an issue.

All the forums I have read there has been no negative stuff on the gecko (or the hawk) for that matter so might just have to flip a coin.

cheers
