Hopefully will try Falcon 99 on Friday.
You put a sail on one of these?
Where do the foot straps go?
The 2016 model already comes with footstraps standard.

someone made a joke about the flappers on another post recently
now i am starting to take that joke a little more seriously !!!
there ARE similarities !!!
Is there a big difference to the 2014-2015 models .?
Im seriously looking at the 138 .litre .they all look great as usual.

How many strap positions on the 99 ?
Falcon TE ( carbon ) 4
Falcon ( wood/glass ) 8 ( 4 inner and 4 outer )
2015 - 2016 90 / 138 / 152 Falcons have not changed.
Thanks aus4.
saving my penny's ..I don't usually use sails over 8 mtr.
but need something fast like this .138 litre.for my 7.5 - 8.0.
These boards are just great - I have a Falcon 152 for the lakes in Switzerland. btw: what kind of board bags do you use? I was not able to find an appropriate one for my board (230 cm x 90 cm).
Hi Rick, nice range of boards! A question on the 138, what about wind/sailrange and control of the board? I now have the 130 as biggest board and thinking of changing to the 138. I also have the new 112. I'm 185cm/80kg.
Hey Mark, I windsurf here on a place named Botany Bay which in a 18-20 knot Southerly wind the chop can some times get a bit like a washing machine. I sailed the 138 with a North 8.4 and a Tectonics Fury 46. The board flew over the chop like it was on a cushion of air, very fast and controllable, it didn't feel like a big board at all. I could just concentrate on going fast without being afraid of of catching a rail or going over the front. AWESOME ??
ok thanks Rik. looking forward to hearing what you think. I've been on the 14/15 model for 2 seasons now. I like the board a lot but am looking forward to trying the new one--at least from the pics and specs it looks aimed at speed. should be interesting :)
I've got the 138 (2015, but shape is identical to 2016 model) for a couple of months now and it's an awesome board. rides high but with control, very little wetted surface and insanely fast. I do feel that you need to 'engage' a bit more compared to the SBs for instance, but if you do/can I think it has better overall performance (early planning, acceleration, top speed and very clean entry into the jibe). I'm using it with 8.4 and 9.3 MauiSails and 44 and 46 Kashy fins (Medium T0). Love the board!
Thx guys, just ordered the 138, arrives tomorrow. Very curious compared to my 130. Hope to try it soon!

Based on a couple of sessions on my newly acquired toy, you can add the 2016 Fanatic Falcon 90 to the list of BLOODY AWESOME!!!!! boards.
Rik, have you tried the new fanatic falcon formula too by any chance?
cheers

Hi C,
used the 2016 Falcon Formula yesterday. 7 - 18 knots with a North 11m. Medium chop, the board has quite a bit of V and flew over the chop up wind like it was on foils and pointed like a demon. Down wind was easy as a slalom board, like a big Falcon 138. Staying in the outside strap was no effort what so ever. Magic machine. Can't wait to get out again.
hey rik
thanks and sorry for my late reply. in the meantime you've had real world racing practice at the oceanics too, with visibly very good results--congrats! guess sam was on the new board too? any additional insights since your first try?
just came back from 2 weeks on st martin, with plenty of sessions on 138/9.0 :)

These boards are amazing! excellent wind range, sailing angles and control.
Here is my North Warp 2016 7.7m and 112 Falcon 2016 in 30 knots of wind on the first leg of a slalom race mowing down the opposition on small kit after a bad start.
Lets just say that guys on a 6.3m race sail was well overpowered on the day

I thought you were using Zulu fins

Sorry Steve I need to inform you that Safety Bay is a weed fin only place because it has long ribbon weed that makes it almost impossible to sail with a pointer fin.
Zulu fins are not developing a weed fin at this stage ![]()
I hope this clears up your query ![]()
