Had a good sail on the new 09 110 liter Falcon slalom board on the 22/12/08.
I have the 06 111 model.
It feels completely different to previous boards. I know you cant call a slalom board "loose" but thats how it felt. Planes quickly and accelerates like a bullet.
Different when you hop on as well. Feels compact and a lot rounded compared to the flat decks of earlier Falcons.
Best part is the gybing, it doesnt even seem to feel chop and carves beautifully.
I used it with a 6.7 RSR Evo 1 and 36cm JP slalom fin. Was way over powered in the gusts but the board stuck nicely to the water and glided over the high short chop. Pads were comfortable and not too soft so you could feel "connected" to the board. Really impressed!!!
Thanks to Sam at Wind Surf n Snow for the lend.

more like $2999......pity because they are excellent boards, there were alot of factors that caused this price increase hopefully 2010 models maybe better priced.

Wow a quiver of these boards would cost more than my car! I didn't realise they were that much, glad I didn't wait for them to come in when I bought my new board recently.
Nice looking board though. I had an 06 as well which was a chunky looking board, the 09 looks so different in it's outline, always mistake it for a much smaller board.

Who cares about fins, Fanatic have a valid point that slalom sailors have their existing quiver of fins anyway.

All slalom boards have gone up this year, even starboard are over $2500 now for 09 boards.

Hi,

What was your fin during this session and the mast rack? For my own experience with exactly same sail it seems that 130/131 is a good position. I try at 128 but it was more slow and the noose was too low.

bye,

It was a 36cm JP slalom. I cant afford others and I like the fin.
base was at 130 and felt pretty good. its what i use on my older Falcon so I used it as a benchmark.
Im certainly no expert but combo felt good but I was very over powered so it wasnt a decent test.
