Roughly Translated

Took this board out for a short sharp 1/2hr session tonight and basically, this board blew me away.

This is a small board (for me being 6'1" and 90kg) with dimensions of:

238cm (7'9")
58cm wide
91 litres

F2 Describe it as a Freestyle board designed for blasting.

I was quite happy after taking it out last week and making a gybe (hey, gybing is a bench mark for me) in 40 knots before flagging it.

Tonight the conditions were more user freindly.

So to describe how it goes.

Getting it onto plane is easy, a bit of front foot presure a couple of flicks of the sail and we're away. Not bad for a 90kg Elmo

Speed is good, it deals with chop at ease.

The board pionted up wind so easily that it gave me some great down wind runs.

The handling is wonderfull, what realy blew me away is the freestyle aspect of this board.

Now I'm what you would class as an intermetdiate sailor. I can go reasonably fast in a straight line, I can wave sail but still regularly Splatt Gybe. I don't do the freestyle thing and I rarely jump.

This board had me blasting along looking for chop to hit and chop hop, I even managed a couple of pops of flat water.

Absolutely stunned, this wee beastie sits under your feet saying "go for it".

It's feels so small and light that I just couldn't help myself.

On the gybing side of things, I did the Splatt thing twice when I gybed into a hole (in the wind) during the half hour session.

Looking forward to giving it a couple more goes before I have to take it back (that was the sad face)

Anyone who can do the Freestyle Thang and likes blasting as well are going to love this.

Took it out again tonight in some quite choppy and gusty conditions and my opinion hasn't changed on it.

It's an awesome board, I would love to see what someone with some freestyle talent could do with it.

I'm Gonna have to take it back, I like it way to much

Just got to wait for my SX to come back from Steve's after he has finished panel beating it. (that will be another story)

G'arn buy it!! you know you want too. You probably got a fright whe you asked hammachisit, but hay ya want it we can tell. G'arn its not a leg or an arm, its only money

Wish I was just that much better to give it a try. Actually wish I could have just stayed up today instead of spending most of the session belting the crap out of myself trying to stay up

Alby thanks anyway for the feed back, much appriciated.

Hi elmo, could you please give me the details of Steve the repair guru. I've smashed the nose of my board and need it fixed pronto. I live in Duncraig but am prepared to go south if this guy is as good as you suggest. thanx

I don't know his contact details but his unit is about 200m down road from WSP.

Saw your other post about getting passed on the trance, should drop in at WSP to suss out the XTC, It should be what you are looking for if you want a freestyle blaster.

I had to take it back I couldn't afford another toy

much appreciated elmo. I will consider your advice seriously. I sail with a guy who has a new f2 (with the flutes through the deck) and he blasted past me as though I was standing still. He seems to handle the chop up to a certain size then resorts to his JP waveboard. THis seems like the ideal quiver choice. I may even keep the trance to chop hop and it goes reasonably well when sailing little island off hillarys harbour. I know full well that there is no one board that can do it all! Thanx
