Sounds to me like everybody should weight their harness more. To the point where you just fingertip the boom.

They still bend more, regardless of how premium they are....... its a fact of life that blablabla

yes ... if you're an elephant but otherwise no, they do not. Not the Duotone at least. The Pryde Slim I manipulated in the shop seemed just as stiff, just a tad heavier.
Try them and you'll see. Those things cost a fortune for a reason.
Wall thickness and carbon quality goes a long way

Hi All. Based on Philn's post above, and the "Stretch Armstrong" flex test I performed on my Chinook 150-200 RDG last March, it convinced me to buy a Goya super skinny 150-200 last June. When the Goya boom arrived, I repeated the flex test for both booms. I found that my Chinook RDG and new Goya boom both flexed the same with the same force applied (ie I could not tell the difference). So, 1/2 a year went past without using new Goya boom due to a fairly **** year of work getting in the way of the good days. This week has switched on, and have been using the new Goya boom. During each session, I've switched between the RDG and Goya boom to see if I could feel any differences. Result: no observed differences. So, my conclusion is, with the two booms I have: there appears to be no performance difference.

I'm not saying you're wrong Phil, but could your RDG boom be the result of a QC issue, rather than a design issue ?. I'm 76kg.

And a plug for the RDG: The tapped head suits me better than the pure monocoque shape. I remember first using the RDG and being delighted at the shape, as I miss the 4 piece boom shape of the past. I found going back to the pure monocoque shape after 4 years strange.

Possible I got a Friday afternoon boom from chinook as mine was definitely floppier than my Goya super skinny. Glad it worked out for you.
