Board Bog.....is it any good for temporary repairs....I am a bit concerned as it instructions say dry the board completely but if you have just dinged your board on the water it will have sucked water. Thus will the board bog stick to a ding and create a water tight fix?
Has anyone used it?....if so did it work?
I cracked the nose on my board.
I was going to get a proper repair on it but i decided to use Selley's Aqua knead-it - 2 part epoxy putty.
I had the fortune of being able to dry the board out prior to applying.
It was very simple, cut off a small portion (big enough to fill crack) and massage/knead it together until warm and easy to manipulate.
Worked it into the crack, waited 15 mins for hardening to begin, trimmed excess down with Stanley knife.
After an hour its hard enough to sand back bit of paint and presto water tight repaired board.
I probably should have spent some more time sanding cos it looks a little wonky but works fine.
Note - Aqua knead it allows you to apply to wet surfaces
I used it in Java surfing....the reefs in Panaitan are less than 2' below in many instances so hitting the reef was a constant for myself and my board...I received 2 nice dings on 2 boards and when I noticed it upon coming back to the boat I sucked out any excess water (gotta do what you can when you dont have hairdryers etc)...left it overnight and whacked the board bog in....that was back in may and its still sealed...will get round to patching it soon...at $5 or so its cheap insurance when travelling.
