I am looking for opinions/reviews on it. I have a chance to grab one at a good price.
Is it suitable (as a single board) for sail range: 4.7, 5.5, and 6.3 (with 2-3 fins)?
Is the fin quiver of 23cm and 28cm (provided) reasonable for the above sails?
[I am 72-75kg]
Thanks in advance for any thoughts/comments,
Paul
Hai, I actually just bought one 2 weeks ago and luckily I've had the chance to try it in perfect conditions i.e. 20 to 30 knots for about 4 full days.
The response of the board is very accurate, compared to my previous board (AHD attitude wave 85 L.) the jibing is sharper, and the jumping has a better control.
If you are getting into freestyle tricks, the maneuverability of this board will help you to progress, I actually find it easier to do the volcano and aerial jibe, though I am still trying hard to do the spock.
The rocker is reasonable, so you don't get stuck in the chopy without compromising the speed, though I reckon the bevel on the tail is still too small to ease the backward freestyle moves.
Good luck!
Sorry, I forgot about your enquiry regarding the fins and the sails.
In my case, the board came with a 25cm wave-fin and the performance with a 4.5 sail was perfect, though with the 3.5 sail I had a few spin-outs so I guess in strong conditions you'd be better off with a 22-23cm.
hi, i had last years 95, was a great board, jumped really well, was good in flat water, gybed really well and held it's speed through turns even in the surf, a few down sides where the deck was too flat and if you weren't standing in a more up right stance got a little uncumfy on long runs, in the surf did great bottom turns on bigger waves, was a bit to floaty for aggressive top turns, i bought a 23cm fin when i got the board, that worked great on flat water and surf, i only used bigger sails on it as it was my light wind board, but with a 5.0m it was an awesome combo.
