Thumbs Up

Here is the recent Wind magazine test excerpt:

Tiesda You, the shaper for the Tiki brand, has come up with an Acid 74 with a stretched rockerline, moderate tail kick and a nose that is less high than any other board in this group.

We appreciate Starboard's equipment that includes some good pads and footstraps that are quick to adjust. The weight is above average but the Wood would be lighter. Quite unstable when stationary, the Acid gets planing pretty good and allows you to get upwind well, ideal for getting back to the peak or getting out past the white water in onshore conditions.

Its good acceleration gives you the ability to jump a lot. When surfing, it's more technical to keep your speed on the bottom-turn than compact designs but it's easier to pull-off short turns than the other pin-tail boards. The board accelerates fast on each wave and after each roller. The rail engages nicely along the entire length. You get an excellent grip, lots of stability and balance in the bottom-turn. You have to push more than others to close your turn but it does so naturally, allowing you to go vertical and smack that lip.
Rail-to-rail is instantaneous with complete fluidity, it's a machine to make cut-backs that carves well and throws lots of spray. In side offshore conditions, it's a down-the-line jet. A bit less radical and more accessible than the Goya, Quatro, JP and RRD. Better in side onshore than the others yet an amazing surfing potential in perfect conditions.+

Early planing, fluidity in the surf, versatility, radicality/accessibility ratio[/red][/b]
